January Inspiration

Some inspiration from January - learning that it's about the process, keeping sketchbooks, developing my face drawings and proportions, developing a style that I feel comfortable with. I mean looking back on Jan this moodboard probably doesn't best describe my overall ideas and thoughts, but just putting this together today feels quite calm which maybe is what I'm actually longing for.

I spoke about the feeling that being creative can be quite overwhelming at times and sometimes drawing actually makes me anxious so I then don't have an outlet for pent up creativity when my hands and brain don't seem to want to cooperate. I'm looking at finding new hobbies, new ways to express myself and things I can turn to, if my mind is on overload without stressing myself even further.

We have created a better living space in our flat share which is incredibly helpful and I'm focusing on what developments I want to make within my drawings so I'm working through that; but like I said, I want to bring back other things I can work on and help create more (in a good way and not an overloading sense). Writing whether its the keyboard on my mac or hand writing on the bus, it's something I enjoy despite it not being my strong suit, so that is something I am going to focus on too.

I'm still deciding whether that means revamping my blog layout / theme so it resembles a more Pinterest / Tumblr layout, so it's not closed off - a bit more open, quick posting here and there without feeling to pressured if I don't post for *ahem* months at a time. I have time to think and try it out though.

January has been long and weird, but I'm slowly understanding that it's not always about the finishing line, there's so much to take away from the learning and practice in getting there too.
